The unanswered question
Under the blue evening sky, I wandered all alone,
Searching for answers, moving from one end
To the other, like an arrow with no target.
The last light of the distant sun did blend
With the soft, soothing, smooth blue sky,
Riddled with clouds, some gray and some black,
My gaze weakened, its reach limited
By the intoxicating darkness, light's evident lack.
The darkness, somehow it stood like a wall,
Between my sight and that absolute truth,
That what constitues the fabric of reality,
That what is beyond lies and falsehood.
That what crumbles not with time's ceaseless tide,
That what deserts not the lonely, weary soul,
That what resonates within, and resonates above
That light illumating the nature whole.
Is there one such light, one such truth?
I asked, my voice faded into night's dark veil,
As with her black wings, night enveloped me,
Putting an end to my sight's silent sail.
