The ferryman's song

The ferryman's song

Shimmer, Oh brilliant waters, beneath the dazzling light of the sun,
And together, beyond the reach of my gaze, let us both run,
Holding hands, serene, peacefully babbling the song
Of your dancing, silver splashes, joyously all along!

Echo, Oh echo our voices as we venture into the depth,
Of speechless, silent woods, untouched and left,
Shattering their silence with the musings we make,
Joyously forever, happily for happiness's sake!

Wander, Oh wander, leaving the western sky behind,
Gliding past clouds, rains and even the farthest wind,
Serenely ferry me across, to that distant end,
Where you and the sky meet, unite and blend!

Sing, Oh sing, the song of the open winds and rain,
Recollecting my land, its each forest and glen,
And look back not once, for distant shores await,
Somewhere to the west, beyond the sea's foamy gate!
