The Maker

The Maker

Under the endless, profound, infinite cosmic sea,
Trembling beneath the leafy silence of a lonely tree,
I witness the grandeur and the divine love,
Showered on us by the creator above.

He is the star, the darkness and mist,

The creature greatest and the life form least,
He is the sun, the moon and the earth,
The unknown mystery beyond death and rebirth.

He makes the poison, yet he's the one who heals,
The maker of every sensation, he alone knowingly feels
The grand order and grander scheme of things,
For he is the undying lord, the king of all kings!

His is the smile that animates each lip,
His is the dream that paints the world beyond sleep,
His is the warmth that nourishes us all,
And his is the chill that follows the Fall.

He is the summer, the sun and the day,
He's the essence of everything we say,
He's the solution, yet he's the dismay,
And he's the end of each and every way.

Maker of silence, he's the maker of speech,

The creator of stars, clouds and oceans each,
From him we all emerge, and into him we go,
For he alone is time, the support of its flow.

Praise be unto him, the maker of my soul,
The one, omnipotent lord, of the universe whole!
And thus blends my prayer, into  his limitless glow,
Praising him forever, the master of all souls below!
